Bellingham public schools are focused on student learning. Their goal is for each student to meet the highest standards and learn to his or her greatest potential. The expectation is for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and qualities necessary to become leaders of tomorrow. Faculty and staff are well-qualified, dedicated professionals, and the parents and community memebers are important partners.

Approximately 10,300 students are enrolled in the Bellingham School District. There are thirteen elementary schools serving students grades K-5; four middle schools serving students grades 6-8; and three high schools serving students in grades 9-12. In addition, a small alternative high school is available. A preschool and a post-high school program for students with disabilities are also offered.

Elementary Schools: Adlerwood, Birchwood, Carl Cozier, Columbia, Geneva, Happy Valley, Larrabee, Lowell, Northern Heights, Parkview, Roosvelt, Silver Beach and Sunnyland.

Middle Schools: Fairhaven, Kulshan, Shuksan and Whatcom.

High Schools: Bellingham, Sehome, Squalicam and Options.
